Good old Santa Claus gave me a Revell B25-J in 1/48. I am not familiar with the kit but on first glance seems like an OK kit in the box. Anyone have experience building one of this type? Any pointers? I have always loved the B25 and can’t wait to build but I want to make sure I am not going to encounter anything too onerous.
I’m starting my third one. For the price it is a great kit. This last kit has a lot of flashing which I expect from Revell now days. I’ve never encountered any problems with the fit except at the engine narcells beneath the wing required quite a bit of fill.
Are ya’ll talking about the originally Monogram 1/48 B-25? If so, it’s a good kit.
If you’re talking about an originally Revell B-25…well, it’s not as good as the Monogram.
Wait a a sec…did ol’ Revell even have a 1/48 B-25 in the old days? Or was it only 1/72? Coulda sworn I built a fairly crap 1/48 Revell B-25, and then being pleasantly surprised with the much better Monogram offering.
Just finished painting the fuselage and wings of mine. Painting the interior of the fuselage now, and assembling the cockpit. Too soon to share anything else, however I think I’m gonna go with different decals and detail kits. Too many cooler designs out there for B-25s at this scale than what RM provides.
Brian, you’re memory’s still hanging in there! Revell did indeed offer a pretty weak 1/48th scale B-25 back in the late 60’s, early 70’s. They also had a box-scale kit. Not much else offered in 1/48th until the Monogram kit came out.
