[Revell 1/72] Macchi C.200 Saetta

OK guys, here she is:

Macchi C.200 Saetta, fighter
Regia Aeronautica, 374 Squadrillia, 116 Gruppo Autonomo C.T.
Grottaglie/Taranto, Italy, 1941
Operational history of this unit unknown, most likely: escort duties over the Balcans and the Mediterranean.
(Revell 1:72 03991)

Now some experiments about how the camouflage makes out on different backgrounds.
First: a desert setting:

Than placed on a ‘Luftwaffe hard stand’:

And finally, the Macchi brothers together, Saetta en Folgore. Aren’t they cute?

Now I can start with the Alcione and the Ariete for the GB…

Cheers,
Jan

Jan, that is some seriously beautifully-done camouflage. Sprayed, or hand painted?

All hand-painted, Greg.

Cheers,

jan

Well done!

All hand painted… (sigh)

Great job on the Macchi! I built one of those guys year ago and hand painted the camouflage also. Takes some time but boy is it worth it in the end.

Nice. Must be eye straining painting camo like that.

Wow, that is some impressive work on the camo. Lots of work but well worth it!

Beautiful work!

I have an S79 111 on the shelf (Italian Bomber) I’ve got the smoke decals from the US, but haven’t got round to building it. But yours painted is incredible, superb well done.
