Getting closer. Tamiya Dark Green and Medium Sea Grey, the colors for Passion Wagon. Sadly I do not share such passion for this kit! All will be forgiven (but not likely forgotten) once it gets to the display case.

Way to go, John! A bird that is likely to be remembered, though not fondly. It will look good when finished.

I have a 1/32nd Revell Bf-109G-10 which I hoped to do this year. I hope it doesn’t have similar problems.

Thanks, Gary. I think the Revell 1/32 G-10 is from a 1998 new tool, so it should not be nearly so complex. I have a couple ProModeler kits of the G-4 but they are based on the Hasegawa 2001 Bf 109 tooling. They look simple to build in the box.

Your progress looks good! I’m currently to the point of using masking tape to check fit everything mainly as a double or triple check on myself so I don’t forget something, like an instrument panel… Looking forward to updates on this one.

Just a couple more decals, fiddly bits, and dull coat to go. Had to do a little remedial work on the gun port inserts. In order to preserve the complicated panel line in those areas I made masks so the filler would not obscure them.

The decals went on well, though I could have worked harder on silvering on some of the smaller stencils. I can’t remember when I was so glad to get a model off the bench, though it might have been that MPM 1/48 P-63A…

A few bits are not there, but enough is enough. I applied the dark green thinly and unevenly, trying to get a realistic tone variation, it also seems to enhance the panel lines, I am happy with that. It has just been washed, that’s why there is no exhaust staining!

I know what you mean when you say you’re glad to have it off the bench. You did a fine job, however. Looking forward to the next, which I hope will be easier!

jeaton01, your Mustang looks awesome! I really like the P-51 in the olive drab paint scheme and that nose art and checkerboard/swirl just looks perfect on there. Sorry that this kit proved to be a “challenging” build for you but you persevered and finished it. What’s next on your work bench, hopefully it’s a “Shake & Make” Tamiya kit.
