Revell 1/32 He-162 "Salamander"

has somebody here assembled this bird? i wanted a wunderwaffe from WWII, so found this at a good price. now, i wanna know what is waiting me beyond the box art

speaking about box art, i noticed in research that this kit has 2 box art (one with the landed aircraft, which is the one i’m getting; and the in- flight plane) for one code. is there any difference between both kits, appart from the box art?

About the only negative that I have seen is that the main wheel doors are not quite the correct shape. think that this may have come from an article that I read in a UK aircraft modelling magazine about a year ago.

I have holded off starting mine as I have a couple of HE-162’s in museums near me & I want to get some pictures of them for reference. Just haven’t had the time to go.

I have added a resin cockpit upgrade set & bulged wheels for when I build it. I think that they are from Airwaves, but it is a while since I got them so may be wrong about the manufacturer.

Here is a link to a review of the kit.

ok, thanks for the link

what colors are RLM 81/82/76?

Sturz, I built this kit earlier in the year, and it really is a very nice kit.

The kit really does build into a great model straight out of the box, the only components I added were a replacement ejector seat and rear bulkhead from Airwaves, including the Eduard PE belts.

The RLM 76 is the underside colour the lighr blue grey, while the RLM 82 is the brighter of the upper surface greens.

ok, thanks. another thing, is the RLM81 the german dark green?

I resently built tamyia’s Salamander and wile i was shoping for it i came across the revell from what i read the tamyia one is much more detailed.

Hi There, I built this when it first came out, before the add ons were around and the only problems I found was that the hatch for the cannons was shown incorrectly placed in the instructions and that a load of detail was provided that was lost in construction, nose leg for example but all in all a great kit in detail build and price

ok, thanks. another thing (again), how many weight will i need to put on the nose and where?

Hello Sturzkampf,

you will need 40 g , better would be 50 g.You can store the stuff behind the cockpit, so you won´t have no problems with the wheel well. ( RoG give in its instruction the order to put weight in the nose, but the wheel well is a tiny place.
