Hi guys has anyone tackled this kit by Revell ???
Or am I better off saving my cash up and getting the Tamiya kit ??
I was impressed with the Mig 29 by revell I’m just wondering if the Revell F 15 is just as good
cheers Sean
I just finished the revell f 15 strike eagle and was very impressed.I haven’t done my tamiya strike eagle yet,so I can’t compare. The revell has excellent detail and fit really good. The only problems is that it is modeled after the prototype strike eagle(thus is not entirely accurate) and the munitions aren’t the highest guality. But I do recommend this model.
I love that bird. My only complaint was the canopy had a seam down the middle.Thinking it was a sloppy mold, I called Revell and had them send me another one. Same thing[banghead] So,I had to live with it because at the time I didn’t have the skill to remove it. Good Luck.(I really like the ASAT missile they supplied. How often do you see that?)

Cheers guys
On those 2 replies I think I’ll buy it , sounds another good kit
Cheers Sean
I forgot about the canopy,a lot of models actually have that seam.I purchased a polishing sanding set that has sanding pads up to 25,000 grit.I used that to remove the seam and then used the tamiya rubbing compound followed by the novis plastic polish spray. It turned out beautiful since they molded the canopy in smoked clear. There was no worry about sanding through. The asat missle only comes with the F-15C model though(which I have just purchased).Either model is a recommended buy by me.
Something else that works on that blasted seam is auto polishing compound. Get the seam down to the canopy with a ver sharp blade and fine grit, then use the compound per the instructions and it will be gone! Coat the canopy in Future afterwards! I used this on the Hasegawa 1/72 F-14A and got perfect results. A can of compound will last forever.
I must have gotten lucky to get my ASAT with the E model. I did purchase it a few years ago, so they have stopped including them. Here’s my Strike Eagle with some company. All of these models are a few years old and aren’t the best, but they work for me.[:D]
