I just finished this old MPC/AMC-ERTL Speeder bike and scout trooper build for the star wars group build. Compared to what Ive seen of the Bandai kit, this one is rough! But I’m not one of those “rivet counting-seam destroyer” guys, and really only removed the seams that would be visible in the finished model.

The base is make from a decades old slice from a walnut tree that my mom found in the back of her closet a few years back. It is roughly three inches thick. I covered it with celluclay to begin the groundwork. The fallen log is an actual broken branch from the peach tree in my backyard. I think I want to remove the tall grass shoots and replace them with some forest dwelling ferns…

Good work Justin. I was planning to buy the Bandaï model and do what you have done with the wooden base. It’s a very good idea.

despite all my effort, no there aren’t… I have resigned myself to believI got that it is a tree whose ancestors once bore peaches…

LOL, even if there aren’t peaches in Pa., you still have a very cool model. Don’t feel to bad, I’m from Idaho and live in Washington, can’t grow potatoes or apples.
