And getting the cheat lines just right…
We’re moving over the next two weeks. It will be a short while before I post anything regarding the Connie and the COPA 737.
Heller 1/72 EAL L-749 Connie: tail and lower wing mounted, gear doors closed…and pretty horrid gaps there.
The Connie is a beautiful plane, as I’m sure your model will also be. Keep at it!
Tempted to join - just got this kit for a steal.

Very cool looking kit and a “Super 144” as well, how can you say no? ![]()
And in Pan-Am livery to boot. Resistance is futile. Join us. ![]()
Nacelles arrived and required a lot of work to fit (dry fitting here ) properly…like a couple of hours of very careful grinding. Dust collector invaluable here, esp given amount of resin dust generated
Looks like a good fit, now.
We’re in the new house now. Now it’s just a matter of getting my hobby bench set up and the paint bench set up. It’s the rainy season here in Panama, so getting everything set up is taking some time. Both of my builds, the Connie and the 737 have survived the move and I found them while unpacking, so as soon as everything is set up, I’ll be ready to rock 'n roll.
Kind of… either the model is not exact 1/72 scale or the aftermarket nacelles are something larger. Required extensive use of epoxy putty to get the profile correct after the cowlings were added. Now for lots of grinding and sanding to smooth and better integrate the two.
Yay…

Looking good y’all! Keep up the good work! I’m still alive! Just been taking a break for a while (will still be probably quite irregular!
I started work on a Pan-Am A320! Maybe I’ll get some photos pretty soon!
Hey y’all! How’s the work going?
I’m going to hold on the two I thought about doing and I’ll commit to a 1/144 Minicraft DC-6B in either PanAm or American Airlines. I’ve got the kit and the decals won’t get here til next month.
I’ll update you on the chart!
British Caledonian - one of the first airlines to use the A320. I was going to say Air France but that didn’t end well.
Beautiful livery and JoyDecals has them
