Resin Zim

Whats your opinion, Cavaler or Atak zim?I have seen some cavaler zim but I haven’t seen any Atak. Does one look better? Is one easier to use? What works best to attach the zim? I read somewhere an epoxie worked well because of increased working time. Thanks!![%-)]

Never used either myself, but am getting some Cavalier here soon, so I’ll be watching this post. I saw some Tiger I Atak zim in an article in another modeling magazine and I was quite impressed with thickness-in-scale and detail. If there is a drawback on it, it would most likely be price.

I’ve used the Cavalier zim. It’s very good. I used it on my King Tiger dio. I’m using the generic type on a Panther A I’m working on. It’s excellent to work with. I think resin zim is alot cleaner to work with and it doesn’t make the AFV’s look overly zimmed.

IMO, Cavalier and ATAK are both excellent aftermarket zimmerit for kits. . I have used Cavalier and really liked it, but know modellers who prefer ATAK. I think it all comes down to what you can get and how much you pay for it.
