I found at Barns and Nobles book store a great find. Two books any avid modeler should have. WW 2 war planes and modern war planes. Both have almost any kind of plane used or still in use. Many good photos to base a model after and for both books it only cost me $20.00. I hope this will help some of you.

Another book no modeler of modern fighter aircraft should be without is “The Great Book Of Modern Warplanes”. This is a very big hard cover book…one and a half inch thick! Contains everything you ever wanted to know about modern fighters. Includes a chapter on the A-10 and has a very extensive section on MiG’s. This book is a MUST for Modern Fighter modeler!

And if you want to model the B-17, P-51, P-38, F6F, F4U, FW-190, Bf-109,Ju-87, A6M2, Spitfire, Mosquito or Lancaster than ‘The Great Book of World War II Airplanes’ is essential.

The Borders book store by my hose carries the Ospry series of books. They have alot of great soft cover profile books on specific aircraft and theaters. I recenty picked up the Mosquito Typhoon and Tempest and the Fighter Comand Aces of the South Pacific. They are great books with a lot of photos pages of color plates and hundreds of combat and pilot reports.

Soulcrusher

Some years back I worked as a volunteer at the Travis AFB Air Museum. I picked a brand new copy of THE GREAT BOOK OF WORLD WAR II AIRPLANES out of the dumpster. I took it in the office and asked why it was in the dumpster and was told “we don’t need it because we already have a copy”. I asked if I could take it home with me and was told to keep it. Two things come to mind. First, the guy in the office was an idiot and second, he didn’t have to tell me twice to keep it. What a fantastic book.
