hi guys started a new model just wondering is thier any replacement tracks for a 1/35 afv m113a1 fsv oh yeah i am back.:D][:D]
opps also for got to ask does the us army use this m113a1fsv for the troops??[:D][:D]
G’day,
Is your new model of the M113a1 FSV the AFV Club kit, or does it look like this ?.
If it looks like the photo it’s a Vietnam era Aussie modification, fitted with the ‘Saladin’ turret, if it’s the AFV Club, that is also an Aussie modification with the ‘Scorpion’ turret and a current vehicle. Both have a 76mm gun.
Several companies do track sets for these vehicles, I used the Academy kit and set with my M113 FSV, what is photographed is my own resin conversion set for the Academy kit.
Tamiya re-released their M113a1 FSV, some time back, but it is not accurate to the Australian vehicle.

No, the US Army does not use the Tamiya M113A1 FSV or the AFV Club version. There is one unit that does use a similar type vehicle, the OSV used by the OPFOR at Ft. Irwin. It is basically an M113A3 with a Bradley-type turret (less TOW launcher). This is basically a training vehicle used to represent enemy armor but at the same time allowing the crews the ability to train on US systems they are familiar with.
The turreted M113 does look cool though.
G’day,
Even our M113 APC’s are tureted, with either a twin .50 or a .30/.50 combination, with what we call a T50 turret. Firestorm have a good conversion for the T50.
Rob.
Oh yes, Skybow did make a set of US patterned M113 replacement tracks and now AFV Club does. They also make a set of vinyl replacement tracks as well. ModelKasten and Fruil Model may make a set, but I am not too sure about that.
