Removing parts glued on with Tamiya cement

I’ve just realized that I’ve glued a part incorrectly to my Tamiya 1:35 Flakpanzer Gepard model. The part in question (C10) is rather large and prevents the rear of the turret from closing properly so I need to remove it, however I’m not really sure how to go about doing so as its rather wedged into the inside of the turret. Is there something I can use to weaken the Tamiya cement is am I just going to have to cut the piece out with an xacto knife? All help appreciated

Try putting it in the freezer for a day or two and see if you can crack it apart.

^^ I was mostly-successful with the freezer trick, using the process to take a partially-assembled Boot Hill Express apart that I bought at a garage sale. Some parts did break, though. You have to be patient with that process, though. Move some, then throw the parts back in the freezer.

You can also sometimes try wetting the joint with more cement. I’ve also had success with that process. You have to move more-quickly with that technique, though.

You can re-apply the Tamiya thin cement (I’m assuming it was the thin cement) over the same seam. It will soften and may need several coats to soften. Then use an exacto knife to help pry the piece off. You will need patience and lots of luck/prayers for success. God speed, I’ll be praying for you.

This is how I’ve done it in the past, it can be a bit messy once it comes apart but it works.
