Removing fingerprints

Hi folks,

Shame on me for getting fingerprints on my painted model! How do I get them off prior to further painting or clearcoating? Can I safely use detergent and water without damaging the paint? How about polly-s-prep? What’s best?

What type of paint are you useing? Is it a fingerprint embedded in the paint or just an “oily” finger print?
