[V][V]Could anyone tell me where these should be positioned as I’ve recently brought some from Eduard. I have a good idea but need pointing in the right direction photos if possible[:D].

Depends on what they’re attached to and on what type of a/c.
Remove before flight flags (RBF) are usuallly attatched to landing gear pins or locks, pylons, missiles, bombs, ejection seats, tailhooks etc. Anything that could cause injury to ground personnel was usually safetied. As a minunum they would be on the landing gear and any bomb or rocket hanging on the aircraft, from WW ll to the present. Check reference photographs on the subject you are modeling to see how the safety pins would be installed.
I was wondering about this very topic last night. Who makes these flags? I imagine they wouldn’t be all that hard to scratch, for that matter, but I’d like to get some, along with the FOD panels for some of my projects, just to add that little extra detail.
Eduard makes the RBFs I used on my recent F-4. I know I said Verlinden earlier…my bad. The deatail is great and they give you several different types. You just have to figure out which type is appropriate for which branch? I also picked up Eduard’s FODS but steel beach also makes some. Check out www.spruebros.com - they also have a store on E-bay.

Pitot tubes are another common placement of the tags. Also sometimes engine inlet coverings and vents.
I’ve seen them (tags themselves) a lot on ordnance stations. Like Gary mentioned, it also depends on what T/M/S (Type/Model/Series) you’re building. The engine, engine intake covers, pitot covers, and canopy covers are part of the gear provided by the manufacturer for each airframe built. I forgot if its AIRES or AERES gear. Flight line guys, help me out.
I can only speak from the belly of the aircraft.
The RBF flags would be stuck in Every rack hanging from the wings and centerline of the aircraft. One would be in the parent rack( attached directly to the wing and centerline) and would be in a MER or TER rack hanging from the parent rack.
Also if there are Rocket launchers each launcher on the top back center have one as well. Also any missle rails would have them as well.
All flags on the Parent and missle rails are usually located almost dead center of the rack on the side you can see as your looking at the bird from the side.
MER and TER racks have theirs on the back of the rack. Just below the selector switch.
Hope this helped.

If you’re gonna get nutso on the details you won’t want to forget the safety pins on the ejection seat!!!
