I just had to write this.
I mentioned the above named paint for a specific reason. When it was available I used probably two tins a day. Yup, between Motoryachts, I did Sailing Ships too. The clients wanted them to look like they would have, if, they got HolyStoned everyday.
The Color was semi-gloss. This made a great base for Dry brushing the odd colors you would see from 500 foot in the air. Not much plank seperation as much as tonal differences around the decks. The dry brushing was done with Home Made Weathering ( Oil Based Chalks.) Gently but sensibly.
Deck Bleached Teak even found it’s way into my car models. The color was such it looked, after burnishing with my fingers and a Q - tip like the auto Interior color " Doeskin" you’d see in a Cadillac or Buick Riviera!
Great all around base for figure painting .The skin area reacted to those powders with a base of this wonderful color. I sure miss it. Like Model Master they started going Bye-Bye by cutting color selection. So specific lines were dropped!
Their British Aircraft interior and exterior matched the specs perfectly. Also it was a great base for " Desert Pink" or Desert Camo to you Armor guys.
I have been able to mix a color close but it takes four different bottles of Testors Square bottles. I will NOT give up either.
