Regia Aeronautica GB II (06/15/09 to 06/15/10)

The two oil coolers is all that I noticed so far. In a earlier build (aaron i think) is where I thought they were weird looking. There are a lot of these aircraft that have the same lines and Im not sure if I could make them out on recognition cards

Steve

This would be the look- apparently Aeromaster is your daddy.

None on eBay none in Google that I can find.

Dragon sells a 1/144 Tornado with a version of that, gee thanks Bondo.

BTW a good looking shoal of decals:

1/72 there is an F-84, but you knew that. Vexing, but a great hunt is on!

Thanks for the response on the figs reggazzi! Any of those three studs standing in front of the wing in Crushers EXCELLENT photo would fit the bill!

I want to model Marco in the middle. It’s actually an Ima"m" Ro. CA blew it.

Thanks bondo!

The hunt continues… so far I have tracked down a few sets that I thought might work, but apparently they are OOP. [sigh]

Crusher that Iman is gorgeous. You so need to do this build asn well. Also well done in sorting the homework out as well. Almost verging on the creeping. If thats an apple in the box by the door then its lines for you young man.

As for the diffs between the 202 and the 205, ill have a look later in my 205 book. I think it has the info in there. Im off to my monthly model club meet tonight. Im taking my little MC 200 and my DVII from Franks KOTS II gb.

Frank, heres the decal you wanted. I realise that this link is from a competitors publication but it offers free downloadable decals that may be of use to those that can print decals. The decs are for a Fiat G55 but im sure they are pretty usefull to other similar sized/ era planes.

…Guy

The main differences between the 202 and the 205 as I understand it is the uprgarded engine. I believe the 202 had the licence built DB 601 and the 205 had the licence built DB 605 around which the Reganie 2005 and the Fiat G55 were also designed. Hence the similairities in the profiles between the three and the change in oil coolers between the 202 and the 205.

The other major difference between the 202 and the 205 was in the armament. the 202 had two small caliber machine guns and two larger caliber machine guns whereas the 205 was upgraded to three 20mm canon with one firing through the hub (hence the flattened spinner Sean) and two in the wings. It also kept the two larger caliber machine guns.

Well Guy I guess I can not refuse a request from you so I will have to build it now. The detail and number of parts in this kit is incredible. It should build into a nice model. I am sure it will be a major PIA to build but it will look so cool when it is done. I do have to get a good start on my Knights of the Sky GB entry first though. It started over a month ago and I have not even started my Fokker D VII yet. I just have to add the strut rods and glue the canopy on the RE 2000 and she is done. Hopefully that will take place tonight.

Frank any luck on the decals yet. I want to see some more progress pics! Especially the prop and spinner!

Soulcrusher

Guy-

I checked out that link and all I can say is

I love Guy, hes so cool and ace an all, i wish i was his son…

Very cool stuff, and they even had the badge I needed! I printed out three copies of the decal I needed, so I have extras JUST IN CASE when the time comes. Thank you THANK YOU!

Thanks Aaron for the offer, I think I have it covered! [:D]

SC- Progress pics? Not much to see I’m afraid. Just hours and hours of fitting, checking, priming, repeat. I’m off this weekend, so I plan to get lots done! [tup]

Frank, this build just got posted to Hyperscale…thought maybe you’d want to see it.

Cheers,
Alex

Finished up the Re 2000 tonight. I added the tiny strut rods for the landing gear. Glued the canopy on and finall the lower gear cover and thats all she wrote! here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Now I’m heading over to the Knights of the Sky GB to finally get started on my Fokker.

Guy I promise as soon as I get a good start on the Fokker I shall return and dazzle you with the Ro 37!

Soulcrusher[oX)]

SC- Now THAT is a beautiful build! Love the lines of that fighter, and yours is absolutely gorgeous! Always loved a red-head. [^]

Thanks for the pics, and I’ll see you over at KOTS II! [:D]

Alex- Thanks for that link! If I could get my hands on some white numerals, I might consider going that route as well. I have the unit badge, and a couple of white numbers but not enough to build that one. I considered using the ones I have to make up an aircraft, figuring that if there was a real “white 14” there might have been a “white 15” as well. But, without finding a photo or profile, I shall continue on with my quest. Thanks again for the link, very inspiring work! [^]

Crusher, shes a honey my friend. Your excluded from homework for the duration of your KOTS build. I built a DVII for Franks build. Its a cracker as well. Is yours the Eduard kit? If it is, it really is a great kit. Anyhoo, we will wait for your return with baited breath. We might have a Group outing over to Franks KOTS gb to heckle from the sidelines.

P.s i took my mini MC 200 to my Model club and they all loved it. I was well chuffed. LOL. (Chuffed is a good thing btw)

Sc, very nice build indeed and congrats to you. It turned out very nice and the red nose really sets this one apart and makes it stand out. Overall a great addidion to your collection

Steve

SC, nicely done [tup][tup][tup] That red nose would make Rudolph proud! [;)]

Looks like ive gone and found another possible build. (If i win on Evilbay that is LOL)

Whatcha reckon? Any good.

…Guy

P.s Wheres that Aaron? Hes heading for lines at this rate.

Oh it looks fab, Guy! my kinda kite too! There’s an inbox review in Hyperscale thats all pos. looks as though the markings are prewar.

I’m here too much work and the ZZZ monster caught up with me! Great job on the Re 2000 SC! The markings remind me of a WWI fighter with the colorful nose.[tup][oX)]

Already posted on page 1 Guy! I need to see what your into now! [|(]

Aaron - Drink some Coffee and get back to modeling. I lose my mojo when your not building… Actually I have been figuring out the steps of how to assemble my Cant Z without going backwards. (also seam filling and smoothing [yuck])

Oooh ooh, Bondo, i looked and couldnt find it. Could you post a link to the in box review. That would be great. Chhers mate.

Aaron, sleep is vastly overrated. On a bus back to the depot today, me and a few other passengers (I wasnt driving BTW) were watching this girl sleeping while sucking her thumb. LOL.Im sure itll be on Youtube.
