Reference material...

Hello friends.
Seems like most of you use reference material for making your current build.
I was owndering in what way do you guys use this?
Painting? Weathering? Details?
And…
What is the best pulisher for such material?
Thanks

well lets see…

I use reference material for just about everything you can think of. Like: paint schemes, divisional markings, who was where and when, stowage on the vehicle, pics of how a specific part looked or was used etc.
so ya, painting weathering, details all fit in.
For the best publisher, well it really depends on what you are building. For example, there are several books on the sdkfz 251, most are by different publishers, so its hard to tell.
However, Squadron does make several books of different vehicles. they are called walk arounds and they have hundreds of pics of a specific vehicle (I.E. Tiger tank, or M4A1…)
And Osprey has quite a few books that are not bad either, but they are usually more model based (not as many real pics)
so reference material really depends on what you’re building.

[:D] hi ,i get squadron books all the time.they are great for painting and wethering, today i got one called, stuart,us light tanks in action, armor# 18 great book.

Thanks,

i use books from so many publishers, i look at them in the shop and if i see something i like in them i buy them

I generally tend to not be concerned with references a lot. The one key area where I do like to use them is for weathering. I’ll generally look in the “war” section at a book store, leaf through books that I might want to buy, and if it’s anything that I think will be useful in the future, I get it.
