Red tail P-51B museum aircraft

I am starting a P-51B red tail based on a local museum that has the plane. There was a special squadron made up of blackilots. Here is the specific plane:

Work will go slow this week because my main effort will be cleaning my workshop

Looking forward to this build. My next one is a Red Tails P-51D, so good luck.

Excellent choice of subject! Can’t wait to see your work in progress. Best of luck cleaning your shop. If you’re anything like me, you’ll find several missing parts from other builds.

Looks to be a great project.
Cleaning your shop??? Whats a clean shop? Is that one of those elusive things like going on a snipe hunt?

A clean shop is one without lots of stuff on the floor that I trip over. At 87 yr old tripping is easy and dangerous.

I wholeheartedly agree. Falling is not good. You be careful. I took a spill last month that put me on my back for a week. Not fun.

I’m looking forward to seeing your W.I.P. I’ve seen this airplane at Oshkosh in 2018, and at the Moody A.F.B. open house the same year, I think. It was parked near Tom Reilly’s B-25J “Killer B”.
