Rear view mirrors needed (really)

Hi all,

I am in need of a pair of rear view mirrors for my 1/24 scale P-51D “Cripes a mighty”. I built the Trumpeter kit and used the mirrors from the old Airfix kit. They are now “missing in action” and have long since been vacumed up. I just noticed them missing.

If anyone has the Airfix kit and will not use the mirrors, please respond. I have tried finding model cars of the late '30’s and cannot find one with similar mirrors. Thanks,

I couldn’t access your pictures of the P-51 with the mirrors you need. I’m not at home to check out my old Airfix kit for the mirrors. Are they the “round car” type that mounted outside the windscreen?

Eduard makes aircraft mirrors for RAF and US a/c from WWII in all the popular scales from 1/72 through 1/24th. Check with Eduard or any of their suppliers.

yes, Mel,

They are the round 1930’s automotive type that were field applied and bolted to the windscreen frame. They were included with the clear parts in the Airfix kit.

I checked both Eduard and Waldron and neither has what I need and my scratch-building is not up to par. Someone posted that I could use modern jet fighter mirrors, but these are not in the same ballpark. Thanks all,
