Real Hetzer anyone?

Kaleu,

So, is that Keissler’s (sp??) Hetzer? If so, I’ve seen it several times at Knox. Most of these guys who own big armor are pretty darned nice. I’ve driven for a couple of them at various times… half tracks, Shermans, etc… I was referring to the stuff marked ‘new’ like the M102 and M3 turrets, ‘space capsule’ (actually a recovery dummy I believe) etc in Indy as from Ropkey’s.

Ron.

Ron,
Yes, the Hetzer and most of the armor at the July 4th event at Ft. Knox belongs to Kiesler(?). If you have seen the armor then you have seen me there (although you didn’t know it) as one of the german reenactors. Were you at Knox when one of the allied crew members nearly lost his hand due to a misfire?

Just like anything else, Eric. One piece at a time!![swg]

Bill

Well, for all interested, I just did a search for tanks for sale-or something like that…

Wow I really need to get that tank fast only were will I park it? The neighbors will call the cops and move away!

And the problem is…?

LoL

Well, the cops part could be a problem!

Bill

Yes, I was there on the M4 Grizzly crew. (Canadian Mfg.'d Sherman in case anybody is confused by that!) My wife was doing her first reenactment on the Party Wagon (M7 Priest). Too bad. That was my last year on the Sherman… and you never want to see anybody hurt… after that I moved into the driver’s slot on the M3 Stuart (Diesel) for three or four years, then into the driver’s hole on a fidgety M5A1.

I’ve worked with three different groups of German reenactors and I must say yours is the most professional.

Ron

No thanks, I had a Marder for lunch. [:p]

I love how you guys are all drooling over this 155 grand purchase, but all you did was scoff at the King Tiger road wheel I posted. [(-D]

Meanwhile, here’s how you can own a piece of WWII history for $55:

That said, man I really want that M2A1. I wonder if I can take out a car loan for it? [:0]

The funniest ad was this one:

Damn, I guess I’ll have to wait to become a nuclear power!

Atomic warhead not included in MA, NY, IN, CA. Check with dealer while supplies last.

Ron,

I was there on that day as well as others. The funny is that I talked with the allied tank crew members before the start of the event. Remember me, I was in a Plane Tree smock and had the G-43? [:D] One year a friend and I had an MG-34 and we put it on my shoulder (like the germans did in ww2) and shot at the planes going overhead. It hurt my ears like h#%@, but we did get a nice write up in a local paper. I have pictures somewhere of the several visits to that event. I was in the L.A.H. unit at the time, but haven’t done any reenacting in a few years. Modeling has taken up most of my time and money. Are you going this year?

Does it come with a mower deck and a snow blade[%-)]

Kaleu,

I’m doing an exchange trip with our German club kids during the 4th. Last year, we ‘crewed’ a Sheridan (sat on our butts on a static tank… weren’t eve allowed to open the driver’s hatch), which didn’t make me happy. Oh well. I’m thinking maybe the next summer take time to go down for a demo weekend. Who knows. I think I did something like twelve years straight. Time for a rest.
Have a lot to do with the Guard also… only have so much time!

Ron

atomic warhead not included !!!
bwuahahahahahahaha !!! [(-D]

You could rob the local hobby shop with a nuke threat-or the hetzer

I wouldn’t scoff at the road wheel, I just want the whole Kingtiger. LOL
