reactive armor

need a way to make the reactive armor that’s on the sides of Marines AAV’S have some photos, but can’t figure out how to?

Styrene strips cut into the proper length blocks?

Balsa wood might give you some better texture, but slightly harder to work with.

Depends on the scale & budget
Dragon do some in 1/72 with fair reviews…
in 1/35 there are a few options,
HobbyFan do 3-4 different kits, interior, EEAK, & EEAK mounting kits, all at eye watering prices…

Minihobby with added EEAK< (early addon armour, not that accurate but basis to work on)

Vodnik has reviewed the Tamiya/Minihobby kits here http://www.vodnik.net/pages/amtracs/aavp7a1wEAAK.htm

Warrior & Blast models also do bits, inc RAMS suspension/track…
enjoy

I’m also going to buy the AAVP with EAAK kit and going to use the EAAK on Tamiya kit. Otherwise, it maybe lots of work for my level of skill to scratch build it. Just like what Jon_A listed on his thread, there were many discussion about same subject before and many good advises out there. Happy Building!
