RE: Monogram = Crap

Hi this is Thunderbolt 2 I really didn’t mean to ruffle any feathers was just looking for opions. I too have monogram kits and some are ok kits. Is their any american kit makers that make good kits like tamya, hase,? I just got the Monogram kit 1/48 B-17.

No there isnt really any kit maker’s that are on par with Tamiya and Hasegawa in the U.S, not any that I know of anyway. If your looking for a better B-17 kit your not going to find one because Revell-Monogram is the only one that makes these kits in that size and for their age they are still pretty damn good.

I wasn’t emplying that, I was letting people I have monogram stuff as well. I got a tests O2 and the model was hard as hell to put together warp wings but i tryed to make the best of it. well sorry if i pissed anyone off,but i was just asking.

Wasn’t Accurate Minitures (sp) a US company?

Great models. They are the only company I’ve seen actively participate in this forum. Others may listen? But, they don’t participate. I think Accurate Miniatures deserves our support for that reason alone.

I thought it was a bit silly for some people to get so fired up over this matter.[;)]

I wish monogram could do some more reworking of their molds. The B-17G kit, for example, has been improved, but it could use a lot more work. I know it costs a lot of money to do this and yadda yadda yadda… but I think it could be done given the popularity of the kit.

I couldn’t agree more that Monogram/Revel could greatly benefit by re-working some of their old molds. It would take tooling $, but a minimum of engineering time and they would sell like hotcakes.
