Anyone who has built the RC211V…
How did you guys paint the heel gaurd that is attached to the frame? Judging from pics I have seen of the bike it is not CF (although I want to paint it that way, I think it makes it stand out). I’m looking at the model now wondering how the hell I’m going to do it and I’ve come up short.

Wolfpac- it calls out for X-18,But it is actually done in CF on all race bikes(all to do with making the bike as light as poss

I looked the 2002 model up on a GP reference page and it doesn’t look like the clutch side is CF, may have been a darker photo?
I was going to tape the frame off, but it I d not beleive I will be able to get a tight seel in the area where the gaurd meets the frame. I’m thinking maybe I should have painted it first.

I posted in the GB site as well but if you have access to CF decal that’s the way to go. Just make a template out of masking tape, cut it with a bit of excess, slab it on with loads of MicroSol and then use the old hair dryer to get it in place. Lock stock!

That seems to be the best way to go, since I allready painted the frame. I’ll order some up and hopefully it will arrive by the time I’m ready to finish.
Someone mentioned before (might have been you), that using 1/24 scale is the better way to go. Anyone have any experience in this?
