I completed this build yesterday afternoon. Built in three monthly four hour Zoom session for a So Cal AMPS online 12 hour build challenge. This is the Hobbyboss 1/35 Land Rover Defender Ranger Special Operations Vehicle, built OOB, aside from swapping out the shovel and water cans for US types instead of the British types that came in the kit. I used Tamiya Rubber Black over a Tamiya lacquer flat black base, and Vallejo color for detail items such as seat cushions, weapons, and stowage. Weathering is AK Pigments, Middle Eastern Soil

I’d also suggest to weather the spare tire differently from the “running” tires, to show it’s just sitting there in the sun and not getting worn.
Pawel, these LandRovers were used by the Ranger Battalions from the 90’s thru around 2004 or so. They replaced the old M151 gun jeeps, and in turn were replaced with modified HMMWVs. Any mods to the wheels for wear would probably have put this outside the 12 hour time limit of the challenge.
TB, seeing how this was a 12 hour time limit on the build, I had to keep everthing pretty tame. Of course the Rangers kept these vehicles pretty well maintained, and aside from getting dirty/dusty/muddy while on ops, they were cleaned up afterwards
Jim, it is not as hard as you think it might be to do one of these 12 hour builds. The monthly pauses built into the challenge give paints and glues time to dry if you plan things out and are able to stay with the planned schedule.
Looks great SP! I could never complete one of those challenges but my hat’s off to folks like you that can not only do it but turn out such nice results as well!
Thanks Gamera! I bet that you could do a 12 hour challenge… kit selection is crucial, planning immensely helpful, and organization of your work area before each session a must! The built in monthly pauses for glue and paint to dry work out in your favor if you follow those guidelines.
