I don’t hang out in the forum much, but I do spend a lot of time down in my deep, dark, underground weapon production laboratory. Maybe a little too much time.
Santa was good to me last year, bringing a Trumpeter Leopold railroad gun. The year started off with a bang.
This is an awesome kit, but you better figure out where you’re gonna put it once it’s finished.

I wanted an photo of the gun firing, so I poured baby powder down the barrel and ran an air compressor hose into the breech.
After the Leopold, I fired up the cloning vats and cranked out a platoon of Marines to go along with an Italeri LTV-4.
The Marines were later seen in action against a group of unusually unruly mushrooms.

Then things got weird. Believe it or not, mushrooms were not the cause.

Following therapy, I was allowed back into the deep dark underground weapon production laboratory. My next project was an old Tamiya M-577 armored command post, which is still technically under construction. I had wanted to paint it in the weird Seventh Army pattern from the mid-70s, but have yet to actually finish painting it.
Then I went on a Vietnam-era Marine Binge. First up was the Academy M-50 Ontos, with a Verlinden 106mm recoilless rifle ammo set. What a fun little vehicle. I’d love to have one to scare the bejesus out of my Amish neighbors.
The Ontos was followed by an AFV Club LTVP-5.
And you just can’t have a proper Marine armored formation without an M-48A3.
After my Marine binge, I returned to the present with a Trumpeter M-1117 Guardian armored car.
Last but not least, an AFV Club M-1128 MGS, finished about a week ago. It has a combination of both the Voyager and Eduard PE sets. Thanks to redleg12 for his writeup about this kit a year or so ago.
Santa brought me Shermans for Christmas this year (who am I kidding, I bought them on sale from Sprue Brothers and gave them to myself), so 2011 will start off with a Dragon M-4A1 DV.
And I promise I’ll try to spend more time on the forum in 2011.
