Racing pylon height, 1/48

I’ve always wanted to go to the Reno Air Races but don’t know if I’ll ever make it out that way. So, I decided to build a P-51 using the Prop-blurs I just got as a racer using my own paint scheme mounted in a bank passing a pylon headed to victory. Me at the stick of course. [:D]

Thanks,

Chris

Ah!, found it. Thank Google. 50 foot telephone pole in orance with a red and white “can” on top. Man, what I would give to be able to finally afford to finish flight lessons and go learn to race.

From the T-6 racing site

If you want some great photos of the coarse go to AAFO.COM. The forums are packed with great photos from awsome photographers.

The National Championship Air Races in Reno are simply fantastic. I’ve been going for years and years and never tire of the spectacle. There’s always new and astounding stuff. Always.

I’m already getting jittery with excitement. Gates open, September 10th at 10am!

Hey Trexx,

When you go could you please do me a huge favor?? If Brent Hisey’s mount is there " Miss America", could you please take some pix of her for me…

Most importantly if you can sneak up on her and take some pix of the office… That would be way kewl…

I am not really for the Reno Racin Stangs but this is the only ship I truly like… So yes if you are wondering, I have Hasegawa’s limited run of “Miss America” and it’s callin my name [;)][:P]

Thank you very much if this can be achieved…!!

Flaps up,

Mike

Rangers Lead The Way

Reno is my usual yearly vacation, but maybe not this year. I first attended that races in 1970, thanks to my dad and older brother Mike. Lived in Reno for three years in the early 80’s, but have missed only about eight races in all. Our family friend Howard Lingren was a pylon judge for many years, but I can’t remember how tall are those pylons. I used to park my car out on the course on the east side, between pylon two and three. They no longer allow that due to insurance reasons. Bummer.

Here are my photos from 2006, and maybe one of these days I’ll download the photos from last year. Maybe!
