RAAF Spitfire Mk.VIII

Here are a couple of pictures of my Hasegawa 1/48 Spitfire Mk.VIII in the markings of No 457 Squadron RAAF Morotai, 1945, Wing Commander Bobby Gibbes.

The only AM items used where a Cutting Edge resin seat, Ultracast exhausts and Victory Models “Aces of the Empire” decals. All exterior painting was done with Humbrol enamels

The build was done for the Aussie Group Build and whilst I’m not 100% happy with it, the sharks mouth looks cool.

Thanks for letting me share.

Cheers
Darren

Very nice build. The kit has been bad-mouthed as inaccurate, but it still looks good to me. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

It looks like you put alot of hard work into your spitefire Darren. If you’re not 100% ok with it then you should be at least 99.9% I think it looks great. Semper fi, mike

great lookin spit there darson. like the paint job. looks A OK ta me!

It looks very nice mate. How did you do the weathering? It looks very nice. Thanks for the pics.

This Spit looks really sweet, Darren. Beautiful job!

Darren,
Your Spit looks pretty good, mate. A little less paint chipping around the port wing root may have been the go, but aside from that incredibly petty bit if whining, the pics show a pretty nice build.
Good deal.

I think it looks quite awesome, I’ve never seen one with the sharks teeth.

Beautiful work, I particularly like your panel definition and cockpit .

Nice looking Spit, I like the camo job

Thad
