RAAF Mirage advice needed

A colleague of mine wants a model of the RAAF Mirage he once flew in. Of course this was a two seater. I know that the Italeri single seater has just been rereleased, but is there a kit of the twin sticker?
The prefered scale is 1/48th.
Is there a resin conversion I could use?
This is not an aircraft that I’m too familiar with, any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,

i once had a mirage III kit and im sure it could be built as a two seater. i cannot remember what brand it was, but theres a dual seater out there.

G’day,

Eduard make the most accurate of the Mirage III in 48 scale, as with this brand the resin conversion is not required.
Heller make a 48 kit but it needs a conversion set to make it right for RAAF [it is also a 2 seat in box option]

AM decals are available also

Thanks guys, I’ll have to do some searching on the interweb for pics etc. He said it was one of the first, if not the first of the Oz two seaters, with a one piece canopy. I’ve got pics of Israeli mirage’s with individual canopies on each cockpit, so it looks like I’ll have to search some more. I think he said it was 75 sqn, i’ll have to pick his brain some more.
G’day
Pete

You can get a 1/48 conversion from Red Roo models in Australia as well as Decals for the Acft from Hawkeye Models also in Australia. The Heller kit has 1 and 2 seater options but has some innacuracies fromt he Australian acft. The Red Roo conversion takes care of most of these. For a good reference on the Mirage go to Darren Mottrams acft photo page. If you are after anything in particular you can also ask on the Aussie modeller website as it has a very good group of very helpful and very knowledgeable modellers on it.

Thanks again for your help. And thanks to Aeroplane monthly magazine, I found a great research website. www.adf-serials.com/ lists all RAAF aircraft serial & the histories of the A/C that carried them.
I know that the Mirage I wanted was A3-116, so I now know the following;
Delivered 01/74
served 20 OCU at Williamtown (should read 2 OCU)
reduced to spares 03/86
The fin is located outside 331 sqn (City of Coffs harbour) Australian Air Force cadets building.
My mates memory says that the fin carried a 77 sqn (Bulldogs) flash, so I’ll have to quiz him some more! or maybe I’ll strike lucky with those references, thanks Dave.
Just got off Darrens site, fabulous! exactly what I wanted, my mate Paul will be staggered this morning, so thanks too to Wayne, Greg Neil etc for the photo’s.
