Well, I had to remove the cockpit from my A-6E to scalp it’s 1/72 scale figures for my recently finished OV-10D. What was I going to do with the newly made scrap? Well, I decided to toss her into the air and watch her smash into a million pieces on impact.

So, that gave me an idea.
I sanded off the crummy paint scale(I had to paint it with q-tips, because my grey was enamel and I was out of thinner!), and re-painted the top with a southern-pride scheme, with “Dixie Glory” over it, and the bottom has an American-pride scheme, with “god bless our troops” over it!
Now, on July Fourth, I’m gonna strap fireworks and bottle rockets onto her fuselage, and send her sky-ward for one final flight!
I hear ya. I gotta Monogram Wildcat that I’m gonna tape some bottle rockets to this year. I got a cabin in Wisconsin and fireworks are legal there. But for me I wanna make this thing fly before it blows up. Does NE1 have any sugguestions? I thought about putting model rocket engines to the thing, and then using a double igniter, but I think bottle rockets would be cheaper and provide more entertainment.
LOL!!! This brings back some childhood memories. Some friends and I used to douse a model with anything flammable and set a match to it. It’s a wonder we didn’t burn something down in the process. I remember the Aurora Zero made of bright yellow plastic blowing to pieces with 2 inch firecrackers. Then there was the time I stuck an M-80 into an Estes rocket and launched it…

Try bottle rockets with some liquid cement smeared over the a/c. Light it up just before you touch off the rockets and you’ll have a spectacular roman candle flying just before she blows!! Did this a time or two with some kits as a kid. What Mom and Dad didn’t know…
gaaaaaaawwwd…what memories came flooding back with this post. WW2 battles in 1/35 scale (ash cans, m80’s, 2 inchers, bottle rockets and lady fingers - all on super8 film). An exsquisite mid-air b-52 explosion…oh, the days of yore - LOL.

my friend put a pack of bottle rockets on a gundam and lit it… this hallowe’en i plan to fill a crap model with gas then stuff it with gunppowder from several cap gun rounds and then light it…
