Quick and Easy UFO

Haven’t posted in quite a while but I thought I’d share a quick flying saucer that I put together last week. I needed a quick build to feel like I’d accomplished something after having so many partially built projects on the bench so here it is.

It’s made from two plastic plates I got from the office Christmas party, a model stand base, one of those coasters that goes under your furniture so it doesn’t squish the carpet, and some silicone feet that go inder electronics to keep from scratching table tops. Took about two hours start to finish

I’d thought about putting lights in it but that would have defeated the purpose of a quick easy build.

Fine job indeed, and inventive. Why it looks just like the one I saw in Slapout Alabama while doing a little moonlight bass fishing a few year back.[:D]

Just kidding there, but I might have actually seen a UFO… I’m not telling. [8D]

cool dude. I like the resourcefulness of the found material.I collect parts and pieces too but I collect way more than actually glue together. What was used for the red ring around the top? Or is it painted like that?

The red ring was painted from the inside (plates were clear) than masked from the outside when I painted the metal surface area.

here is a progress pic.

The plates have very nice detailing, they just begged to be a flying saucer

oh, I see. Thanks for the WIP pic. Well done and thought out.

Interesting amalgam of disparate parts.

Kirk your watching too much Star Trek now your starting to sound like Spock.

Doh!

Why oh Why couldn’t you be more like McCoy. LOL[:P]

Dammit Jim, I’m an Engineer not a Doctor!
