Has anyone ever used this Createx stuff? i have never used them before so i am not sure if it is worth the cost.
But i have never seen any other paint with so many Transparent color variations. i have never seen a Clear Purple paint before besides these Createx paints.
but i am not sure if it is strong enough or good enough to invest my money on them.
I have been using them on and off for about 10 years for T-shirts.
They are not very good for plastic as they do not have real good adhesion properties and need to be heat set to cure properly.
If you want really good acrylics to try out then take a look at Golden acrylics as they are the best…period.
People do use Createx on metal but it has to have a coat of clear for protection later as it is not that strong on it’s own.
A primer coat may help but it still was not designed for that purpose and does not adhere very well. Also, you will see the underlying color under the Createx because of it’s transparency. The reason the colors are transparent is for T-shirt artists who layer colors for different effects. You can spray red and then spray yellow near it and where they overlap it turns orange. It works great for that purpose.
Go to an art supply store and buy one of the small 2 oz bottles of it and experiment with it. It may work for what you want it for.
What are you intending to do with it?
i have searched the net on Golden acrylics. i have never heard of the company. but i couldn’t really find a good site that shows what type of colors they have.
Do you know what kind of Transparent colors the Golden Acrylics have in stock? from what i have searched, they only have Transparent Yellow/gold and red.
Do you know of a company that sells a more wides range of Transparent colors?
i was trying to re-color an already made figure/toy. Some parts are made of diecast metal with a pretty good chrome shine. and other parts are chrome plated on plastics.
and i am trying to make a different shade of Chrome. by adding a couple of coats of Transparent colors. i have used Tamiya clear blue, but i don’t really like the color. and i have added about 10 coats of this stuff but the color is still not right. and the chrome is completely faded out because of the numerous coats. so i was trying to get a better shade of blue so i can just coat in less amounts. (to keep the chrome shine that is.)
so i can’t really use a primer for this job.
i have taken a look at the website and i see that Golden Acryilcs have Clear purple and Phthalo blue which might do the trick.
Do you recomend Golden Acrylic Transparent paints over Createx Transparent paints?
Do you know if these Golden Acrylic paints adhere better compared to the Createx paints?
do you know if either Createx or Golden acrylic Transparent colors are glossy in color?
i have heard that Createx Transparent are semi-glossy. and i really want a gloss shine. i do use Future in all cases. perhaps this may help. but i don’t want the chrome to fog.
