Question on the sludge wash....

I am close to starting some washes on my Mustang and want to ask a quick question. Being as how this was my first attempt at airbrushing-- I do believe I was a little heavy on the paint. My panel lines are still there-- but are somewhat shallow…so I am hesitat to put on a coat of Future.

I am now putting on decals and they are being applied with MicroSet and Sol…

I was wondering-- if I am a bit careful with the sludge wash, especially around the area of the newly applied decals-- would it be possible to do so without Future?? At present- the Mustang has a few coats of Alclad aluminum (along with the usual red tail and black anti-glare panel)…the model is crying for nicely detailed panel lines- and this seems to be the best technique- but I wanted to make sure before I start that I won’t mess things up.

You really should seal those decals first. If you are worried about coating the entire model with Future just brush some over the decals a day before doing the wash. when you do your final dull or gloss coat the finish will even out and you avoid the risk to the decals. Hey Mike, notice the similarities in our stats?

LOL…I didn’t until now-- that is too funny Swanny. I imagine you’ll surpass me soon though as my visits here are somewhat sporadic [;)]

Thanks for the advice…that seems easy enough…don’t know why I didn’t think of that LOL Much appreciated!
