While cleaning my airbrush needle, I unscrewed the wrong thumb screw and out popped the spring screw and the needle. I can see how it re-assemble it but I’m not sure how much of the back end of the needle is suppose to stick out of the tube shank assembly. I don’t see anything in the badger manual that tells me. Can any of you tell me how much (in millimeters or inches)?
The tube shank should be fully screwed into the body (keep going until it stops), then gently push the needle in until it stops. Don’t force it, or you run the risk of deforming the tip. I use a twisting action to insure it fully seats against the tip. When in place the end sticks out a scant 3/16" according to my Mark I eyeball.
Thank you Bgrigg. I have installed it according to your instructions. I have about 3/16" on on rear end and about an 1/16 - 1/8" at the front end. Just curious, do you also tighten the rear-most thumb screw? It seems to lock the the needle in place.

Absolutely, that’s what locks the needle in place. Don’t tighten it too much, finger tight will be good enough.
The 100LG is a great airbrush, that if properly maintained will last a lifetime.
