Question about aircraft nick name

Hello all,

I had a bit of a debate the other day with a buddy back home in Canada about what aircraft the nickname “Silver Sow” was given to.

I’m pretty sure I’ve only heard it in reference to early KC-135s when they were serving in bare metal finish.

My buddy says its something B-52 related.

Anybody know for sure?

It refers to the C-135.

Paul Crickmore’s book on the SR-71 has a chapter on the KC-135Qs that supported the Blackbird. The title of that chapter is “Silver Sows”. [alien]
