I’m working on Verlinden’s 120mm 101st in Iraq.
My question:
Did the 101st have tan colored Interceptor vests and digital camo BDUs in 2004 or were Woodland vests and 3 color desert BDUs more common?

Short answer, DCUs and Woodland IBAs were still being worn in 2004…
Desert Camo IBAs were available in about July’04 and later. They were slowly issued to troops going to Iraq. If you were already there and had a Woodland IBA, you kept it… US Army never used the all tan (Cayote Brown) IBA. It was only worn by USMC.
Army digital camo uniforms, the ACU (Advanced Combat Uniform) was not issued till APR '05 and is still in the fielding process. As of Apr '05, all units going to Iraq were issued 4 sets of ACUs to go with their DCU. Both ACU and DCUs are still worn in Iraq.

Whiskey, you missed it. The “MITCH helmets…too advanceed for you,” part is an inside joke between Avus and me. He is a master scratch-builder and can/has made them and other pieces himself. Thanks for the link though.

Anhow thanks for the link; I had a look the figures, they look great, but they are 1/35 so their MICTH wouldn’t fit my figure.

Lots of pictures for you to use as reference. According to pictures from this web, soldiers are wearing new pattern uniforms and looks like interceptor vest also has the same pattern as well. These are probably recent photos.
