Pz III ring mount MG

I am building the Tamiya Pz III L - great little kit, lots of fun. Other than a few minor tweaks, I am building it OOB. As I was puttering with it the other night, I got to thinking about a ring mount MG for it. I know (or think I know) that these were not a ‘factory issue’ item, from the majority of pics I have seen. But, I can believe that it would be a field mod that some crews would be likely to use.

In my Pz III In Action book (Squadron’s Armor #24) these is a single picture of an H (page 22, if you have the book) that appears to have a ring mounted MG-34. Ironically, the tank is on fire and all the ammo is cooking off, so it is not a ‘close-up’. So, I was wondering if any of y’all might have/have seen additional pics of such a mount on the Pz III (preferably the later versions since I am doing the L).

The improved Fliegerbeschussgerät 42 replaced the Fliegerbeschussgerät 41 in 1943. It was not mounted on a rail as were on later Panzers, but attached directly to the commander’s cupola with set screws. (See page 68 of Panzer III & It’s Variants.)

As luck would have it, this is an Ausf L.
