Pyrogravure tool availability in the US?

Hello! I am interested in obtaining a pyrogravure tool–great for simulating weld seams, zimmerit, etc. I know Historex of the UK makes them, but they are quite expensive and work only with European voltage…does anyone know of a US maker/supplier, preferably online, that has them? I’ve had no luck with eBay or with Micro-Mark (which surprised me!). Thanks!

sorry fella. never heard of it personally.

surely help will come along soon though…

Actually, I’ve discovered that it is simply a fancy word for “woodburner”, which is a heck of a lot easier to Google successfully…picked one up on eBay for 13 bucks.

yeah that right, I can remember using them during our woodworking class in high school. Why dont you just heat the tip of a screwdriver to get the same effect? That would be cheaper. LOL

I know some of the american guys have gotten them from Walmart. Any of the big box home renovation stores should have them too.

Rory,

Listen man …we’re tankers…don’t use those big words OK? Only the guys in the aircraft forum and Larry Dunne understand what a pyro…whatever is!
