Prowler underbelly color?

Hi guys!

Just a short question here. I’d like to hit the hobby shop on my way home tonight since I have to stop off at a couple of other stores in the area. On my EA-6B Prowler, what is the color of the bottom? it’s a three-toned scheme but I ran out of paint to paint the jamming pods and fuel tanks. I left my instruction sheet at home so I was hoping one of you guys could jog my memory as to what color the bottom is.

Thanks!

Eric

Depends upon the era. They started out in the Gull Gray 36440 over White 17875 in the 70s, switched to the overall Gull Gray 36440, late 70s/early 80s, then went to the TPS schemes of light Ghost Gray 36375 over light gray 36495, and later TPS of dark Ghost Gray 36320 over light Ghost Gray 36375 with the Gray Blue 35414 leading edges and anti glare areas.

Thank you Stik! It was the later TPS with the light ghost grey undersurfaces. I should have filed my TPS report. That probably would have helped.

I wasn’t able to make it to any of the stores last night after work. Just before I left I got a phone call from my frazzled wife. I could hear our two kids running amok in the background. LOL! So I just went straight home in order to let my wife decompress. I’m hoping today’s a better day so I can hit the stores.

Thanks again for the paint color info!

Did you get the memo? We are not using a cover sheet on the TPS reports…[;)]

Youre very welcome Eric! I know all too well about those days when Camp Runamok is in session. My kids are now past that stage except when school is out of session and they are “bored”…Tomorrow is always a better day…[H]

As I recall, Prowlers went directly from the gray over white scheme to TPS, don’t think they ever used the overall gull gray scheme.

HA-HA-HA!!! I forgot! Were they not using cover sheets on the TPS reports anymore? [t$t]

Thanks for the great words of inspiration Stik! You’re right. Tomorrow always is better and that is so very true. Today I’m going to get back into exercising (first time since last Nov) and then hit the hobby shop. It’s going to be a good day!
