Ive used Testors and Model Master enamel paint almost exclusively for a long time now, and Ive just realized Tamiya paint is $1.50 cheaper than Model Master bottles! What are the advantages and disadvantages of Tamiya acrylic paint versus Testors and Model Master enamels?
The fumes of acrylic paint is less toxic. But for me the biggest advantage is water clean-up. I hate cleaning, period. Acrylics seem to clean up easier. I’m not just talking about cleaning brush, but also hands and clothing and whatever else I happen to spill paint on! [:)]
The only disadvantage of Tamiya is color choice. For some subjects colors need to be mixed. Otherwise it’s great stuff.

I find cleanup with acrylics fine if I do it right away. But if I delay, and the stuff gets quite dry, I find it harder then to clean the acrylics than cleaning up enamel that has dried for awhile.
Tamiya paints will dry faster. On the way to the surface of your subject if you are not careful. You will have to relearn some of your painting practices.
