PROPER ALIGNEMENT

It seems that my eysight deteriorates…I thought that the tailplanes and decals were properly aligned. Seen them the other day there are horrendous misfits…
How you ensure proper alignement ?..especially upper lower wing insignia…With fuselage given it is narrow enough you can see both sides. For tailplanes i have started using a angle measurement instrument, (what is the name in english actually? the one which looks like half circle increments in degrees and used at school geometry class…)

A protractor?
As far as alignment I really dont have any tips on that. Ive been pretty fortunate to eyeball it and be close enough to my liking.

I too have noticed with age that aligning decals has become more of a challenge, Eespecially when making sure that the national insignias are equadistance to each other from one side of the fuselage to the other. I bought a set of dividers from a artists/drafting supply shop and use those. What I tend to do is apply a decal to the port (left) side of the model, let it set up, and with the dividers measure from the edge of the decal to, for example, the rear stablitator. Then prepare the same decal to the starboard (right) side, slide it onto the fuselage, and while it is still moveable, gently adjust it to the same positiion as the one on the opposite side, using the dividers as a guide.

Doesn’t a protractor sound like some weird medical instrument? “Okay mr. Smith, we’re now going to use a protractor to remove the blockage from your colon…”

Age problem???..BLOODY HELL…I am 31…!!! lol
Just myopic but still young…lol
the tip looks promising though…

I often use a mirror to align fuselage markings - just decal one side, let dry, then have a look at the reflection of the decalled side and you can see where the decals should go.
It’s easy and it works.
For the tail empennage, the good old Mk.1 eyeball works for me…

I’ve always used the panel lines to align the decals. I know that if it’s such and such a distance from this line, it must be the same for the other line. I hated protractors in school, much less using them now. Next thing you know, I’ll have to start using a micrometer.

So i d better get the eye doctor to laser-fry my eyeballs then…lol…
Laser-fry…lol i am amazed at my improved linguistic capabilities…become a wordmaker now…lol
