Project plane nearly done...

I still have to add the pitot tube, whip antenna, and a couple other little odds and ends. The Blohm & Voss BV P-194 by Revell in 1/72 scale. The decals are all from my spares box as the kit decals are useless!

Hope you enjoy it!

Happy Modeling!

Very nice clean and interesting build, Thanks for shareing that little gem with us.

The skies the limit,

V.A.

The German aeronautical engineers that designed that thing had a few too many schnaaps before they sat down at the drawing board. Can you imagine a P-38 or B-25 pilot getting in that thing, looking left and saying, "OK, number 1looks good. Then he looks right and says, “!@#$%^&*(), who stole #2?” Great Build. Looking forward to your next one.

Thats a nice build. and what an interesting subject. The Germans sure know how to exsperiment.

Very nice build Joe. Thanks for sharing.

It seems to me that the tail and rear horizontal stabilizers are identical to the ME-262.Is this intentional?

yardbird78 you crack me up! I can picture that little scene now done by the braintrust of the Saturday Night Live crew.
In all seriousness, very nice work on the BV ninedriver. Excellent paint job and weathering.

Looks great… love that thing.

B&V were such an innovative group of aeronautical engineers. What a great project to illustrate that point. Amazing job.

Matthew

What an unusual looking plane and what a fantastic job on it, ninedriver.

Regards, Dan

Looks fantastic! Nice job on the camo, especially the tail!

Fred

Thanks guys…looks like this one struck a cord with many of you as it did with me. It looks like aeronautical nightmare to be sure! I just couldn’t resist having this ugly beast on my shelf. Yardbird, you’re commentary on the pilot is probably spot on![:D]

I’ll post some glamour shots of it next week when I get home again to put the last couple items on it.

Thanks again guys for the feedback!

Joe

Nine -

Very nice job on the build and camo finish - that one will certainly be a conversation piece.

Just curious - does anyone know what they were trying to accomplish with that design ?

Chris

Looks good, Joe !
VERY nice job on the spinner. Getting clean lines on spinners, espscially in 1/72, is difficult. The mottling on the tail breaks up the splinter scheme nicely.
The outer wing panels remind me of the BV 155 fighter.
Looking forward to the finish !

Looks great Joe, definitely more pictures required.

There’s a nifty little comparison of this aircraft on www.luft46.com that explains the advantages and disadvantages of this design over several other common airframes (Me 262, Bf 109, etc.). The actual page is right here:

http://www.luft46.com/bv/bvp19401.html

Such reasons for that arrangement were cited like the ability for greater weapons concentration in the tail-engine “boom” (they didn’t have to worry about a cockpit), etc. I guess this design flew quite well, aka the Bv 141:

Unfortuantely all the aircrews and pilots didn’t like it and were very uncomfortable flying it. I wonder why… So, it didn’t earn widespread production.

It certainly is an interesting aircraft, and a nice build too. Keep up the good work! [tup]

Great looking work so far. Can’t wait to see it finished. Bryan

wow did that actually go into service?

Nine great job, how did get that shade of tire black?

Gumiflex

Nice work Joe
