Progress Update** Bug Gets Panel Line Pre-Wash

Bud, I use a technique Blackwolf developed using a hobby knife, needles and jewlers files.

Plus, I made my own scribers from sewing machine and safety pin needles (Inspired by Eddie). You do not need to sand off the raised panel lines for this. I use the raised lines as the guide and did 90% of the scribing free hand and only sanded off the rained lines after I scribed. The method is simple and very easy. I recommend it to any one scribing for the first time.

Very Cool, thanks for the tip.

To chime in on what many have probably already discussed extensively, I personally prefer Swanny’s method for scribing. Except instead of using an x-acto to “scrape” off the raised line, I go straight to sanding after I’ve scribed the lines. Works well for me! [2c]

Swanny’s scribing technique is great, but the difference is any beginner like me can use Blackwolf’s technique and still get the same results without having to buy expensive scribing tools. I made my own scribers out of sewing machine needles, safety pins, and a drafters compass needle (for drawing circles) as well as using jewelers files and I feel results in the pictures speak for themselves.

Just finished airbrushing the Bug. She is in a two tone ghost gray TPS. Just a little touching up painting, panel line wash and fine tuning outer details left to do and then she gets a good coat of Future and decals applied but, HOT DANG she LOOKS GOOD though.[:D]

I’ll post pictures again when she is all finished. This is the best work I have done yet, STAY TUNED!
