Things are moving along nicely now that the Pedro has stopped fighting me. Here she is getting closer to the paint room, just have to fit that canopy, mask and stuff some tissue in various openings.
And the B-26B is making good progress, the fuselage sides are just taped to help check for nose weight (not enough yet) but the wings are done - all seams dealt with.
I’m doing this with the lower gun windows open …
You can just see the lower gun peeking out from underneath. Have a bunch of 500 pounders to clean up for the bomb load. All the clear parts were dipped in Future a few minutes ago and are under cover for the night.

A good place for the nose weight in your Marauder is where the weight is in the real thing… In the engine nacelles. I use lead split shot fishing sinkers and flatten them
with a hammer. With the weight in the nacelles, there is less stress on the nose gear, too… It will take a little more weight there as the moment arm to the CG will be shorter but the main gear can take the weight. I’m a big fan of the Martin B-26 as my Dad was one of the Red Raiders of the 22nd Bomb Group…First to fly the Marauder in combat.

Unfortunately with the ESCI kit there is no room in the engine nacelles - they are not engine faces but fully detailed, multibank engines in there. The only place I have any room to work is the compartment right behind the cockpit. Already shaved plastic off the inside of the elevators and rudder to lighten the ****** end but it’s going to take a lot more than that.

Those engines are fantastic, Swanny! That’s the first time i’ve seen a model kit use something aside from the engine faces! Great job!

don’t you love those kits where you need next to a real Engine block to counter balance the tail of those wanna be tail draggers, as for nose weight do you use B-B’s or fishing weights?, I use B-B’s because they’re cheaper then fishing weights and I could do about 4 to 10 kits
I use lead fishing sinkers. I just got back from Meijers where I picked up another pound of the little buggers.
