Well, its been a lot of work so far on my "production line. With the exception of the Ta 152, these kits were started & built together. The Ta 152 had to play “catch-up.” I thought I’d post some pics as I begin the camo painting, just in case anyone thought I gave up on my idea.
This is the 1/48 Hasegawa Ju 87G-2, with the Eduard PE set. The PE really added a lot to this kit.
This one is the 1/48 Trimaster Me 262A-1a, straight from the box. I’ve got a very different Eagle Cals sheet for this bird. I can’t wait to finish it !
Next is the 1/48 DML Ta 152H-1, also with an Eduard PE set. This detail set makes a big difference in the wheel wells.
Last is a 1/48 Dragon FW 190A-8. I used a disappointing Eduard PE set on this one. At least it gave me the instrument panels, rudder pedals & belts.

This has been an enjoyable project. Had I used 4 Hasegawa kits & no PE, I’d probably be done by now ! As is, it’ll probably be another week, maybe two. The camo for the Ju 87 & Me 262 will be more involved (labor-intensive) than the Ta 152 & FW 190, each requiring more painting after I’ve decalled. I don’t want to “give away” the markings on those two yet. The camo will be finished in a couple of days. The Ju 87 will receive its top camo today, with the others to follow tomorrow.
Chris - the Dragon FW 190 has some real fit problems where the wings meet the cowl. If you want to build one, I can tell you how to avoid the headaches. I much prefer the detail on the Dragon kit to the Tamiya, but its not an easy build.
I’ll have to keep my eyes open for one. I only have one Dragon kit so far and I must say while I havent built it the detail impressed me…Im having some serious issues with masking on the 72nd one but thats for another thread/post…lol
Thanks, J-Hulk ! My theory behind the “production line” is one born of laziness. I’m building by color (all cockpits are same color, landing gear & gear bays are same color, camo colors similar). I got this idea because I dislike mixing paint, loading & cleaning the airbrush just to paint the cockpit color on the canopy’s frames. Next time, I won’t include a “greenhouse” like the Ju 87 ! I spent an entire day masking all the canopies !
Swanny - the lines , along with the cannon mounts & all the control surface linkages, are PE. Its definately the finest Eduard set I’ve ever used.
If anyone wants to build this kit, and has PE experience (there are 100+ parts), I highly recommend using this set. It takes a beautifully molded kit (with the exception of the wingtips) one step further.
