Problems with Tamiya

Has anybody else had problems with Tamiy’s aircraft kits and their double numbered parts? I looked on the sprues and some of the sprues didnt even have the part number on. This stinks!

Which kit are you having the problem with?
I’ve never seen that on a Tamiya kit before! Normally they’re the undustry standard for just about everything a model kit is supposed to be.
I’d hate to think their quality control is slipping.

Welcome to FSM.
What is a “double numbered” part?
While all Tamiya kits are not gems (some of the older kits have their problems), I have never seen a Tamiya kit that did not have all the parts correctly numbered.

Which kit are you referring to?

Propably he means the extra polycaps for the spinner, or double set of exhausts…lol

some of the part numbers are on the parts themselves, mainly the bigger parts though.

I have four Tamiya kits and they have numbers on both sides, by that i mean if you lie the thing with all the pieces in it down you can see the numbers on the top side with some missing and if you turn it over there are the missing numbers, just makesfinding pieces that much harder

gee . . . it shouldn’t be that hard, considering Tamiya’s excellent pictorial instructions

[:0]…oops…i’ve been with the hobby for nye on 18 + years and though i have a number of Tamiya, Accurate Miniatures, Eduard, Classic Airframes, Bandai, Dragon & Hasegawa kits…i’ve worked on only 1 Hasegawa (P-38H) and though i’ve found the detail superlative…the engineering (fit) was atrocious…
so, though i’m commenting…i’ve no issues with Tamiya…yet.[B)]…
until i’d accumulated the skills necessary to be worthy of “top shelf” kit, i figured i’d stay with kits that would make me learn…
after this much time modelling…you’d think i’d be ready by now…huh.

The only problem I have with Tamiya is that they aren’t producing enough new racing/rally car kits!

I have no problem with tamiya kits, only they are slow in producing new kits compared to other manufacturer. Also, they don’t produce paints that match FS.
