Well, I don’t think it is the airbrush as much as it is the paint canisters. I have a double action Paasche, the VL I think it is. Anyway, when I tried to paint with the canister, the one with the screw on lid, it can barely was able to suck up the paint. So, I stoped, disasembled it, cleaned it again (it was already clean), put it back together, and still wouldn’t work. The ratio of paint to thinner was fine I think, because when I switched the paint to the small metal paint holder cup (if you have a Paasche, you know what I’m talking about) and it worked fine. Any ideas why it didn’t work? I would like to be able to use the canisters because the little metal cup only holds a very small amount of paint.
P.S. I was using Model Masters paints and Airbrush thinner from the same company
I had the same problems with mine, Turns out i didn have enough paint in the jar. another time it wouldn’t work so i loosened the lid and it sucked up the paint perfectly.
Yeah i had a paasche VLS double action and no matter what i did i could never get it to work properly.As it turns out the needle wasn’t sitting straight,same thing happened with the other 2 needles.$200 aussie dollars and i never painted one model with it.
Anyway i ended up buying aBadger 175 Cresendo For $400 and it’s never given me any grief. J.S.
Well I think its unanimous…check the little hole atop the canister. Take a toothpick and insert it into this hole sveral times to insure the tiny hole is clear of any obstructions…a clogged or plugged hole will prevent the proper siphon action of the paint as you have described. Hope it works for ya.
Thanks guys, I’ll try the little whole thingie. If that doesn’t work, I’ll unscrew the lid a little, and if that doesn’t work, I’m getting a badger![:D]
