PRE-PAINTED TOS BSG VIPER PILOT - SEATED IN 1:32

Hi Guys,

May I ask you a question?

Last year, I bought the MOEBIUS 1:32 TOS BSG Viper from Amazon. I tend wanted decals to make the original Starbuck’s Viper (yes, I realize they didn’t have those markings on TOS, my nickname in college, 1978-1983, was Starbuck - after that guy, and I wanted to pay ‘homage’ to that favorite time in my life) a nice man sent me the exact decals I was looking for …

But before then, as I was searching the Net for those decals, I came across (both unfinished and pre-painted versions) resin figures of TOS Viper pilots. Both standing and seated.

My builder (I can’t build, I’ve got Cerebral Palsy) has started “my” Viper. Today, I searched the Net for those figures and I can’t find them now. Do you guys know who might have produced them? And, where I could get a seated, pre-painted one? If you do, would you please contact me at PTConsultingNHR@aol.com.

Thank you,

Tim Connelly

Hey Tim, yeah I remember the figures. I think Cult TV Man sold them but they’re not listed on his site now. I picked up the seated female pilot to paint up as Lt. Sheba. I’ll look around this weekend to try to find the company name from the box. I think I may have stuck it inside one of the Viper boxes, if not I dunno where it got to… [:S]

Cult TV Man? OK

Hey Gamera,

Got this from CultTVMan today:

"Ticket status: New

Subject: 1:32 resin BSG TOS Viper pilot figure, male, seated, pre-painted, pre-made

Hi Tim

I don’t know where to locate figures like you describe. Sorry!

Steve

CultTVman’s Hobbyshop"

Hi-

I might have an answer for you- I bought an aftermarket resin female Viper pilot figure for my Revell TOS Viper years ago. Try MMI, (Millennia Models International) a Canadian outfit.

Try this web address: (don’t know if it’s still in business)

www.coldnorth.com/millennia_models

Hope this proves helpful.

Hey Tim, sorry. I bought the figure probably 5-10 years ago so I wasn’t sure if it were CultTVMan or not. I was going to look for it today but ended up busy, I’ll see if I can find it tomorrow.

Randy, thanks, I wouldn’t mind having a second figure if I can figure out who made them and if they’re still around.

OK, … Next question; was Starbuck left or right handed?

Looking at pictures right handed Phil

Are you sure?

That’s awesome Phil, dunno why I didn’t think of looking at Starship Modeler [:(DD].

No idea if Dirk was left or right handed. Guess it’s a good excuse to watch more Galactica or the A-Team for ‘research’… [;)]

Starship Models got back to me - the only ones they have are the unpainted ones. But, didn’t I see pre-assembled/pre-painted versions?

Its not a complicated paint job for a figure like that. I’m sure the person building the kit for you can do it, its just pretty much brown after all!

Here’s my Viper built by Stan Pienkowski.

Very nice build. [Y] You have a good builder there.

Starbuck was right handed, Apollo was left handed.

I saw the conversion cockpit for a family model, or tub as many of the pilots I knew would call a twin seater.

The only time they ever showed a tub was on Galactica 1980. To do one of these you have to make changes to the engine area, especially the exhaust system.
