I just went through the same learning process, and heres how I stumbled into it as I could not decipher exactly how to do it in the “help” section.
Set up an account with www.photobucket.com - its free
up load your pics into that account
once that is done, “copy” the address which will appear below your pics in photobucket
“paste” that address into your topic on this site

You need to use an image hosting service. I use ImageShack. Its on the web at http://imageshack.us/ . Once you post your image all you have to do is to copy the link used for posting on forums. It’s the one that starts and ends with [IMG] . There was a how to on the forum some time ago. You might try doing a search on the forum if you continue to have problems.
