Possable Phishing Email Addressed From Firecrown

Not sure if this has happened to anyone else on here of not. I received an email that looks like it could be a phishing email addressed from Firecrown. Director of Digital Strategy if there is such a thing.

Says something about congratulating me and I should check out their store. Also mentions something about points and a gift certificate.

I don’t know if its real or not cause I’ve received two emails from them and I think its something to wary about.

I was looking for a post that described it, but somehow I kept missing it. I actually wasn’t sure where to post this question though.

Yes, it was! I just don’t make a habit of clicking on links I’m not familiar with or expecting.

That’s wise and not a fault.

Hello - yes, I’m real! You did qualify for one of our Forum Rewards gift cards, which you should have received via email. It will come from the sender “Trains.com Store.” Thanks for your participation in our community!

You must have gotten a decent mint gift card John. How much was shipping?

Very generous gift card.
Shipping $4.45
With the card I paid $0.08 for all these goodies

Are those brushes on the upper left?

Yes. I typically buy Windsor Newton Series 7 sable brushes (not cheap!). I saw these are Kolinsky Sable and thought I’d give them a try. They were the most expensive item in my haul.

I’ve gotta go shopping tomorrow on my day off. Haven’t had any time to do that yet but will be making use of that card for sure.
Thanks again to the leadership for putting this program together

I got one of the gift cards too. But in all honesty, there is not much available in the shop for the cards’ value that I need or could use. Even without factoring in shipping.
