Hello. I am just starting on A-Model’s I-16 Type 5/6, and I found a marking version for a type 12. My problem is, I can’t find any good views of the wings so that I can change the type. I need to add 2 cannon, and I don’t know where, or what they look like. I found some interior shots with the instrument panel that A-Model provides, but I don’t even know what type it is for (the web source just said I-16). Does anyone know of a good website with pictures of the type 12? Or maybe already have pics they can send?
I do not know if this is the specific model you are looking for but it appears to be armed with extra cannons in the wing. I do not have any info on the photo itself just the pic.

Thanks for the links. They don’t have any Type 12s, though. I only know this because there are supposed to be 4 weapons in the wings. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have any idea. I will never build any other Soviet Aircraft, so I have bookmarked the sites for when never comes and passes. I wasn’t ever going to buy another Amodel kit, let alone an I-16 AND an I-180E, BOTH by Amodel. I gotta tell you, the I-16 is a HORRIBLE little kit. Almost as bad as their Bf 109W. The I-180 has potential, though, and I am excited about getting the time to finish sanding the putty away. I can only do so much out here in the field.
I gotta be honest, Manstein’s revenge, it doesn’t. Seeing that excellent build and really cool paint scheme, I want to get one of those, too. I know, they are tiny in 1/72, but my wife is really getting upset with how much space my models need already, and most of them aren’t even built! I have snuck some finished builds into her living room, and she will surely have something to say about them someday.
Is that an ICM kit? I might have to get one just so I can use some decent parts with the rest of the Amodel kit.
Hey fomocomav not to be rude but did you look at the picture I posted in my thread. It is very clear that there are two weapons mounted on each wing. I believe this is the model you are seeking info on. I have alot more pics of this plane plus multiple detailed interior shots. Just trying to help you out here I do’nt know if you missed my post or did not notice the different wing armament. If this is in fact the model you seek info on let me know and I can post many photos of this variant to help you out with your build.

Here you go. Three nice shots of the very sparse interior. I did not realize the other pictures I had were duplicates so this is the only external photo I have of the extra cannon armed version sorry.
Glad I could help. I though I had more exterior photos of the type 24 but when I got to really looking at them the were duplicates sorry. I guess the type 24 was a little rarer than the others. It is very hard to find pictures of them.
