Nice job. Looks like it will come out great. Can’t wait to see the final piece.
Looks good, Spector [tup]
Keep the pics coming
[bow][bow]outstanding one day I may get to be half as good [:)]
Shawn, After chit chatting off line with you about this build, I am thrilled to see it done. I must say you did an incredible job with the whole build. The PE turned out AWSOME, and nothing beats the sag of a set of Fruils. I really like that you build from a picture of a specific vehicle. GREAT JOB!
Now comes the fun part eh! PAINTING! I am sure it will be spectacular. Keep us posted.
Now Shawn…onto the Stug build we go!!!
Fantastic work Shawn, keep it up.
Looking forward to the paint!
I’m a firm believer that the paint job, especially a complex camo job, makes or breaks a build, IMHO. I’m sure yours will be great Shawn. [:)]
TRUE!!! I have seen many of fine and AM heavy…ie expensive models ruined because of a halfarse paint job…
Wow, that’s quite a build. Those PE parts really do look quite extensive. Let us know how it goes when the paint starts to fly.
The deatil indeed looks quite extraordinary. Now to what is perhaps a basic question, but I am relatively new to armor. How in the world do you paint in and around all the details of the gun assembly? I would have thought the prefered method would be to paint the sub-assemblies, build carefully, and then touch up. Since your’s is not the first AFV I’ve seen done this way, I have every reason to assume that the painting will go without a hitch.
Andy
Outstanding job thus far and a nice diversion from all the Panthers and Tigers; not that there’s anything wrong with them.(I’m building a tiger II right now). By the way, what did you use for references?
Andy, I’ll speak for Shawn on this one because i have the same kit… The gun is held in place by a vinyl keeper so it can be removed and painted aside very easily…
The guys at missing links noticed I had the seats on the wrong side and both were facing backwards instead of forward ! Doahhhhh! Easy fix however . I am not going to do camo on this gun , just solid grey , old school style . Ty for the comments all and will post after paint pix when done .[:D]
OH reference pix mostly came from the AFV interiors site , which is great for almost all german tanks , check it out sometime !
Shawn,
Great looking build. I am surprised you have not gone insane with that much brass. You have the patients of a saint!! Can’t wait to see it with some paint on.
